This week on The Chrissy B Show the theme was jeans and denim. Looking at the trends these season expect a slight decline in the “skinny jean” cut, and a move to a wider leg. This may be a hard transition for some, as skinny jeans have been dominating the market the past few seasons. Specialty jeans, menswear and denim pieces other than jeans are also discussed.
Host Chrissy B is wearing straight cut jeans by Frame in a beautiful dark soft denim. Try a straight leg cut for your next pair of jeans for a great “transition” piece. I’ve paired the look with a Mondrian inspired silk blouse by Diane von Furstenberg and Lucy Choi “Canterbury” stillettos.
I went for an ultra skinny jean cut with an ultra high rise. The high rise of the waist allows me to wear this kitten crop top by Paul & Joe Sister without having to bare my midriff. Ultra high chunky Sam Edelman ankle boots complete the day look.
Maegan is my evening look and is wearing black waxed skinny jeans by Citizens of Humanity. Paired with a gold sequin top by Nicole Miller and high heeled ankle boots by Italian designer Vic, Maegan is ready for a night out on the town.
Menswear is also seeing a turn towards a wider leg. Here are a pair of straight legged jeans by Paul Smith and a soft denim jacket with paisley inset from The Dove Collection of Pretty Green. The longer cut of this jacket and butter soft denim turns the usually stiff and uncomfortable jean jacket into a comfortable, form fitting piece of outerwear.
