“I look ridiculous!” We talk Body Dysmorphia

Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is an anxiety disorder that causes a person to have a distorted view of how they look and to spend a lot of time worrying about their appearance.

Most of us have something we don’t like about our appearance – maybe a crooked nose, an uneven smile, big ears. Whatever it is, we might fret about these imperfections, but generally they don’t affect our day-to-day lives.

But for people who have Body Dysmorphia, they can think about their real or perceived flaws for hours each and every day.

Chrissy is joined by a special guest who suffered from Body Dysmorphia, Maddie Butler and hearing how she’s learned to deal with it. And psychologist Dr Audrey Tang, tells us more about why some people suffer from Body Dysmorphia and what we can do to help treat it.

And we also feature a special visit to Paradise Wildlife Park – a great way of relieving the stresses and strains our minds go through on a daily basis.

Chrissy also gives some tips on how you can love yourself.

Writing as a therapy & Makeover Day

We treat a guest to another very special makeover – a lady who used writing as a means of helping her with depression. And there is also some fashion advice from Cynthia Liza Gregoire and more.

National Mentoring Day

With National Mentoring Day fast approaching, Chrissy speaks to the brains behind this event and also discusses the benefits of being mentored and there are some stories that will be sure to inspire you.
